New River began Father's Day 2007 with a small group of 6 couples from the Kaufman Church of Christ.  The Kaufman Church was looking for an opportunity to plant a new church in Forney and so the story began.  Our goal is to simply introduce people to the loving, forgiving and merciful Jehovah God and His Son Jesus Christ. Through our faith and baptism into Christ, we are saved and called children of God.

We began meeting in homes and have moved to several different rented locations.  In 2015, the New River family purchased 4 1/2 acres on the west side of Forney.  We desire to be light in darkness by showing the love of Christ to our neighbors everyday.
